Located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, this project involved the complete electrical tenant improvement design for three levels of commercial office space including BlueShore Financial's flagship ""Financial Spa"". The project includes a three-storey atrium, open office areas, private offices, two exterior pavilions, and shell space for six commercial tenants. Coordination with the base building design team was required at the beginning of the shell project to ensure that the electrical rough-in requirements for BlueShore Financial were incorporated into concrete formwork.
The project is designed to avoid the usual "banking hall" feel and have a "spa" type feel. This is achieved via the materials and colours in the common areas. The lighting was selected to accent features such as the bamboo wall and rock face features. Glare was considered to avoid contrasting images on the TV screens throughout the space. All non-occupied rooms have local auto lighting controls, with the atrium space having day lighting controls.
Electrical services needed to be closely considered with the many pieces of millwork to ensure the rough-in locations hit the correct spot. The base building fire alarm system was modified to separate the financial BlueShore space from the residential space to allow BlueShore control of their space as opposed to having it shared with a residential strata. Data communication wiring was installed as part of the contract. Server rooms are located on each floor for ease of installation.
