More than just what you seafood.
In order to accommodate additional office, warehouse, and manufacturing space, Delta Pacific Seafoods underwent a significant two-storey expansion. The full scope of work – which included demolition, excavation, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical changes – took place while the existing facility remained fully operational. Smith + Andersen provided electrical design consultation for this undertaking, advising on the best electrical solution for each of the refurbished office spaces, processing rooms, and warehouse and refrigeration facilities (including an ammonia-based refrigeration plant, coolers, freezers, and several -40oC blast freezers).
The electrical scope for this expansion included lighting and power, as well as connections for the processing equipment. Our team was also engaged to work on a substation upgrade in addition to the expansion. As part of this additional scope, the team provided an assessment of existing infrastructure, making recommendations which would improve overall operations.
