A home away from home.

The Arnie Lowenberger Residence at Brock University’s St. Catharines campus is a 312-bed residence that offers a mix of single- and double-occupancy dormitory-style rooms across four levels. Amenities include lounges, study rooms, shared washrooms, and laundry facilities.

The ground floor features a large dining hall and a full-service kitchen that can accommodate up to 400 students. A central heating plant consisting of condensing boilers provides high-efficiency heating throughout the four-storey building via a hybrid heat pump system.

Smith + Andersen provided mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as communications design services, for this residence, which was completed in 2003. The project was constructed as part of the Government of Ontario Education Grant program and delivered as a fast-paced Construction Management contract.
