The fit-up of Earls Ambleside Beach marked a milestone for the chain, as this was the first Earls location to open in British Columbia in more than a decade. The design kicked off a unique dining concept for future and renovated locations of Earls restaurants.
Smith + Andersen provided electrical services for the project, which included security solutions. We also helped with the communications and audio-visual designs to promote smooth collaboration across all disciplines.
We maintain a continued partnership with the Earls Restaurant Group and have engaged as the engineering design consultant on more than 15 Earls locations across Canada and the United States.

A unified aesthetic.
Nestled near the waterfront in West Vancouver, this Earls location includes 80 seats on a patio overlooking the water, and an additional 190 seats inside. As you walk into the restaurant, you’re greeted with bespoke lighting fixtures, interior plants, natural wood elements, and custom artwork by local artists.
The primary objective for our electrical team was to design systems that were unobtrusive, complementing the architectural and artistic features that define the restaurant. We designed specialty lighting systems, with full dimming capabilities, and power systems that blend into the architectural finishes. From the lighting design and chosen fixtures, to the local artistry, each element of this fit-up contributes to a unified design and brand aesthetic.
